Eco-Gites of Lenault Walks - The Stream Walk
.
.
.
Walk number 2 in our series of walks you can take directly from the gite gives you the chance to paddle in a stream and see the very earliest spring flowers. Those who like to forage will appreciate the wild garlic, too.
The Stream Walk
Distance - 0.7 kms
This walk is our shortest offering in this series of walks, making it suitable for younger visitors who may not like a long hike. It is, however, not suitable for pushchairs and good footwear is advised.
Route for The Stream Walk
Walk out of our back gate and turn right onto the footpath. This is GR221, a long distance path which goes from Pont D'Ouilly to Coutances.
At the T-junction turn right and walk alongside the stream which sadly, it is too small and short to have a name. This section of path in spring is covered on both sides with wild garlic and for those who like to forage you may want to try this recipe - Wild garlic and leek risotto.
Cross over the stream (waterproof boots recommended in winter but in summer it will be much drier) and then turn right.
Walk up the slope. The south facing bank on your left is a wonderful location to spot spring flowers with wild daffodils, primroses, snowdrops, violets etc all making an early appearance here.
At the top of the path turn right onto our front drive and return to the gite.
